The 5th Annual Tour de Franklin aka "Halloween Hunard" will be on Sunday, October 26th, 2008 at 9:00am at Smoky Mountain Bicycles at 179 Highlands Road in Franklin, NC.

Routes: There are 3 routes to choose from: 28 mile with beautiful rolling hills and approximately 2200' of elevation change, 66 mile with 5 mile climb and approximately 6500' of elevation change, 103 mile with 5 mile climb and 10 mile climb and approximately 8500' of elevation change. During October, the leaves are in full fall bloom and temperatures are nice and cool.

All proceeds go to American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.

Registration: You can register at www.active.com or email s.bicycles@mchsi.com for registration form. Cost of ride is $30.00 if registered before 10/17/08 and $35.00 thereafter. The cost of ride includes rider packet, t-shirt, SAG, rest stops, raffle and post ride meal. Ride is limited to 200 riders. Packet pickup and registration is from 8:00am - 9:00am on 10/26/08 and ride will begin at 9:00am.

Directions: From Atlanta - Take I 85 N towards Greenville. Exit left onto I985 towards Gainesville, GA. Continue north and I985 will become 441N. In NC, take right on 441N Bypass, continue to the Highlands/Franklin 64/28 exit. Turn left at ramp, Smoky Mountain Bicycles will be on your left approximately 1.2 miles from exit ramp.

From Asheville - Take I 40 W to Exit 27, onto 74W towards Waynesville/Atlanta. Take Exit 81 onto 441S towards Franklin/Atlanta. In Franklin, take the exit after Wal-mart, Highlands/Franklin 64/28. Turn right at ramp, Smoky Mountain Bicycles will be on your left approximately 1.2 miles from exit ramp.
